Prepares students for long-term study in a foreign country, by helping them to adapt to and understand the host country’s culture, history, geography, political, and economic context. The course provides the practical information necessary for a foreign experience by exploring the principles of culture shock, ethnocentrism, cultural relativism, and the fundamentals of crosscultural communication.
