Spring 2020 - Econ Law & Govt (ECON-1200-01)
This course investigates alternative views of the appropriate role of markets,
legal institutions, and government in society. Different political
philosophies will be discussed, as well as the historical and cultural context
of the U.S.\ and Wyoming constitutions. Basic tools of economics will be
introduced, to help students understand how consumers, firms, courts, and the
government interact at both the (micro) level of individual markets and the
(macro) level of the country as a whole. The emphasis throughout will be on
applying tools and concepts learned to current issues.
