After briefly surveying state collection laws, this course considers the impact of federal bankruptcy law on secured and unsecured creditors. The primary focus of the course is on consumer bankruptcy under Chapter 7 (liquidiations) and Chapter 13 (reorganizations). Concludes with an introduction to Chapter 11 (business reorganizations).
