What is a camera and how do you create a photograph? This class will look to question your assumptions about these as we learn how cameras function, what the bare necessities are to have one and how many different methods there are to create photographic imagery. We will explore room sizes camera obscuras, tiny home made pinholes and other lens-less and camera-less methods of photography all while looking through the mediums history and reading discussions on its place in the world. We will also learn how to talk about photography as an art form and discuss topics in photographic history.
