Making, Hacking & Tinkering: Creating in the Modern World
Learners in this course build future-ready skills and engage in problem-solving activities that apply a design thinking mindset. Content explores the theoretical and practical base for creativity and innovation and explores media and visual literacy in many contexts. Learners will have opportunities to visit the COE Student Innovation Center. The activities allow learners to bring in different aspirational interests (such as various majors or hobbies). This course thrives on discussion and hands-on activities such as developing a prototype. Risk-taking and failure are encouraged as learners explore approaches to solving things that are important to them.
