Expansion of the principles of solid mechanics: stress, strain, principal stresses, elastic and plastic behavior, failure theories and the use of energy methods. Analysis and design of thick-walled pressure vessels, noncircular cross sections under torsion, nonsymmetric beams under bending and curved beams. Prerequisite: Completion of the ME Success Curriculum, ES 2410.
