Spring 2021 Mol Mech Bact Path (PATB-5220-01)
Intended as a survey of the molecular mechanisms that have evolved in pathogenic bacterial species which result is disease. The broad-scoped objective is to assist students in gaining an understanding of principals and concepts as they apply to common themes of bacterial virulence acting on higher order host organisms. In-class review/discussion of scholarly manuscripts, historical to present day, is paramount in allowing students to gain a better appreciation and comprehension of biological principals and concepts through knowledge of experimental approaches. Dual listed with PATB 4220. Prerequisites: PATB/MICR 2220 and statistics (or epidemiology).
