  • Fall 2020 Rhetoric, Media, and Culture (ENGL-4040-02)

    This class will guide us through the ways in which popular culture shapes the way that we view ourselves and other, and gives us a vocabulary to describe this phenomenon, critique it, and even push back against it. Prerequisite: COM1 and COM2.

  • Fall 2020 SI: First Person Writing (ENGL-4600-01)

    Presents from semester to semester a variety of significant topics in American, English or other literatures. Prerequisite: 6 hours of 2000-level literature courses.

  • Fall 2020 SI: Transmedia Storytelling (ENGL-5000-80)

    Provides an opportunity for specialized seminar approaches to subjects in literature. Prerequisite: graduate status or 12 hours of 4000-level work or consent of instructor.

  • Fall 2020 Computational Biol Practicum (BOT-5555-01)

    Students will perform computational analysis of data to address contemporary biology questions for clients. Teams of students will work together, with consultation and direction from the instructor, to perform analyses, answer scientific questions, and report findings to a client, using best practices in report generation and reproducible research. Prerequisite: BOT 4550/5550.

  • Fall 2020 Intro to Outdoor Leadership (ENR-2800-01)

    Designed to increase knowledge and competencies related to leading others in the outdoors. Significant focus is on self-awareness, judgment, and decision-making. The specific skills and theories students learn throughout provide a foundation for other leadership endeavors. Prerequisite: consent of instructor.

  • Fall 2020 Mds: Classical Islam (HP-3151-40)

    Introduces study of nature and grounds of knowledge, its limits and validity. Examines epistemological basis of selected areas of academic thought. Topics vary from year to year. Required of UW Honors Program students. Prerequisites: junior standing and participation in UW Honors Program.
