An overview of mass media, newspapers, magazines, books, radio, television and films. Studies mass media's historical development, emphasizing understanding techniques of expression and impact on American culture. Surveys content of mass media; considers contemporary problems and trends.

Spring 2021 Painting II (ART-3210-01)
Continuation of ART 2210. Investigates and uses various oil or acrylic painting techniques to create individual work. Emphasizes contemporary and classical treatment of form, color and concepts. Prerequisite: ART 2000 and 2210.

Work in classroom with a major professor. Expected to give some lectures and gain classroom experience. Prerequisite: graduate status.

Spring 2021 Intr Chem Eng Comp (CHE-2060-01)
Introduces fundamental concepts in linear algebra, numerical methods and applied statistics needed to solve engineering problems. IN this context, this course also introduces and reinforces computational tools that will be useful for other CHE classes. Prerequisites: C or better in CHE 1005 or ES 1060; C or better in CHE 2005; C or better or concurrent enrollment in MATH 2310.

Spring 2021 Process Sim & Econ (CHE-3070-01)
Introduces the use of commercial process simulation software routinely used in the chemical industry. Problems involve heat and material balances, physical properties, phase/chemical equilibrium, and simulation of equilibrium-stage separations. Prerequisites: C- or better in CHE 2005, CHE 3015, and CHE 3026 and concurrent enrollment in CHE 3028.

Spring 2021 Painting III (ART-4210-01)
Students will engage the contemporary and classical treatment of the formal, aesthetic, and conceptual approach to their creative expression. Students work from a proposed course of study and will be self-directed and participate in group presentations and critiques. Prerequisites: ART 2000 and 3210.
