  • Spring 2021 Colloquium II (HP-2020-08)

    Continues study of significant works in Western and Eastern literary, scientific and philosophical traditions begun in Colloquium I. Assignments focus on using critical discourse, historical research, and textual analysis to produce effective written compositions and oral presentations. Prerequisites: WA/COM1

  • Spring 2021 Intro to Geostatistics (GEOL-5446-01)

    The development of the basic principles of geostatistics and its practical applications in the geosciences will be presented. Main topics include: sptaial analysis, kriging, cokriging, geostatistical simulations (unconditional, conditional). If time permits additional topics include: simple kriging, indicator kriging and block kriging. Prerequisites: MATH 2200, 2205, 2250 and STAT 2000.

  • Spring 2021 Statistical Mechan (PHYS-5510-01)

    An introduction to statistical mechanics and the many-body problem, including quantum statistics. Required for Ph.D. students. Prerequisite: PHYS 5210, 5320, 5410.

  • Spring 2021 Geochemistry (GEOL-4490-01)

    Discusses chemical evolution of the Earth and details of chemical thermodynamics, phase rule chemistry, equilibrium reactions and reaction kinetics as applied to geology. Prerequisites: GEOL 2010, CHEM 1020, MATH 2200, 2205.

  • Spring 2021 Intro LGBTQ/NS Studies (WMST-2000-41)

    Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and New Sexuality Studies (LGBTQ/NS) explores the interdisciplinary study of sexuality and its importance to the organization of social relations and social institutions. Primary among its concerns is the study of the lives, the politics, and the creative work of sexual minorities.

  • Spring 2021 First-Year Seminar: (ATSC-1101-01)

    This course delves into what the atmosphere is and how itaffects our daily lives. What is the atmosphere made of;what drives wind patterns; how do we observe changes inclimate? These are all questions this class will explore.Students will learn about forces affecting the atmosphereand climate, weather around the world and examine how wellweather is represented in media.

  • Spring 2021 Geochemical Modeling (GEOL-5450-01)

    Modeling of geochemical processes in fluid-rock systems of the Earth’s crust. Emphasizes development and application of conceptual models as well as quantitative numerical models. Reinforces and expands fundamental skills in aqueous and fluid-rock geochemistry to better understand geochemical processes and solve problems in fluid-rock systems. Prerequisites: GEOL 4777/5777 or GEOL 5610 or GEOL 4490.

  • Spring 2021 Visual Anthropology (ANTH-4380-01)

    Offers anthropological interpretation of visual representations and media, including analysis of the development of ethnographic films and their contemporary use. Visual representations of many cultures as well as mainstream United States examples are analyzed. Prerequisite: ANTH 1200.

  • Spring 2021 Collaborative BIM Design (ARE-5600-01)

    An advanced comprehensive building design course integrating architectural and engineering skills, where design decisions are supported by performance simulation and analysis. Students will use Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and simulate a professional Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) experience by collaborating with a practicing architect on a real-world project. Prerequisites: ARE 3600.

  • Spring 2021 Theory & Methods of ESL II (EDCI-5440-41)

    Continues the theoretical and practical considerations in the teaching of ESL. Emphasis on Specifically Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE) and literacy develoipment for intermediate and advanced English language learners. Applicaiton of different approaches, metods, and procedures in TESL/TEFL. Development of curriculum. Issues in the profession. Requires teaching/tutoring component. Prerequisites: EDCI 5430.
