Spring 2021 Writers Workshop: Poetry (CW-4050-02)
No books required! In this semester's poetry workshop, we will read--closely, carefully--a packet of 4-5 poems for discussion each week. We will consider--closely, carefully--the craft and poetic technique, the tones and textures, the permissions and refusals, the dictions, the loves and furies of the poems. Memorization (of the poems) encouraged. The writing assignments will root themselves in the assigned reading and take off from there. Class time will be divided equally between discussion of the assigned reading and discussion of our new creative work (prose poems welcome). By the end of the semester, students will have produced a short chapbook of 10-12 new poems and a book review of their own work. Please see instructor for more information, encouragement and general good vibes. Prerequisite: 3 hours of a 2000-level creative writing class in the appropriate genre or consent of instructor.

Spring 2021 IC:Intro to Creative Writing (CW-1040-01)
In this introductory course, students will free-write, experiment, dream, draft, workshop and revise creative writing in 3 genres: fiction, poetry, and nonfiction. Class time will be divided between large group discussion of the assigned readings and small group discussion of student creative work. Prerequisites: None.

Spring 2021 Gen Chemistry II (CHEM-1030-03)
Students must enroll in laboratory and discussion section. Prerequisite: Successful completion of CHEM 1020. Students not meeting this prerequisite will be administratively dropped. All labs meet for lab safety training on January 27. Students not attending lab safety training may be administratively dropped. Reserve Wednesdays 5-7pm for exams.

Spring 2021 Chemical Thermodynamics (CHE-2070-01)
Discusses first and second laws of thermodynamics applied to chemical processes, production of power from heat, refrigeration, and liquefaction processes, develops thermodynamic relations for calculating thermodynamic properties of fluids, including the use of equations of state, and introduces heat effects, Gibbs-energy change of reaction, and chemical-reaction equilibria.Prerequisites: C- or better in CHE 2005, PHYS 1210. C or better in MATH 2210.
